** Pontiled Remedies article shows a dozen examples of mid-1800s remedy bottles with the marks on their base showing they were made by hand.

** Rene Lalique: by 1884, after apprenticing for a Paris jeweler, young Rene Lalique set up his iwn jewelry workshop.

By 1884 hev accumulated enough assets to purchase a small jewelry atelier.

He invented better ways of working with enamels tendance and with glass.

“Discovering perfumes” piece runs 2 1/2 pages. Illustrations include an unusual deep purple bottle with impressed flower and stem design on the curved surface of the square Stopper.
