The Emporium Seafood Company takes you back to a fascination time of railroading. A time of cobblestone streets and where steam and sail once ruled the waterfront. Here were found all kinds of loading and unloading operations, and all sorts of cargoes. These waterfront buildings were very weather-beaten because salt water spray quickly aged the wood, metal and just about everything else. The Emporium Seafood Company is typical of these wooden firetraps that were, and still are common along the seaports of America.
